Kimley-Horn Electrical Designer in Tampa, Florida
Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our MEP team in Tampa, FL!
Responsibilities
The person in this position will use computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects
Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
Utilize AutoCAD & Revit to create construction documents and perform quantity takeoffs, including site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, construction details, single line diagrams, equipment, and conduit details
Create cable and wiring schedule-based takeoffs and sizing input from design partners
Develop familiarity with and improve upon Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members throughout the production process
Qualifications
Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
Associate Degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree 2-5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical MEP systems
Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred.Must have proficiency in REVIT
Ability to work independently and with a team
Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts preferred
Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specifications
