Kimley-Horn Electrical Designer in Tampa, Florida

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our MEP team in Tampa, FL!

Responsibilities

  • The person in this position will use computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects

  • Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards

  • Utilize AutoCAD & Revit to create construction documents and perform quantity takeoffs, including site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, construction details, single line diagrams, equipment, and conduit details

  • Create cable and wiring schedule-based takeoffs and sizing input from design partners

  • Develop familiarity with and improve upon Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members throughout the production process

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter

  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn

  • Associate Degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree 2-5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical MEP systems

  • Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred.Must have proficiency in REVIT

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts preferred

  • Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specifications
