Kimley-Horn Aviation Civil Engineer in San Antonio, Texas

We seek a motivated Aviation Design Engineer to join our growing Aviation team in our San Antonio office to support and manage a variety of aviation projects both airside and landside. As an Aviation Civil Engineer, you will support the planning, design and construction of airport projects; prepare analyses and reports for on-going projects; prepare plans and specifications; mentor and coordinate the work of analysts and other technical staff and manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of aviation design experience, preferably airside

  • Must be a professionally registered engineer

  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating

  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circular’s and Engineering Briefs

  • Familiarity with pavement design and FAARField Design Software

  • Experience with construction phase services and construction phasing and sequencing

  • Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation experience

  • Experience with modeling of aircraft and vehicle turning movement simulations in AeroTURN, AutoTURN, Path Planner, and/or AviPLAN

  • Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
