Kimley-Horn Electrical Engineering/Renewables Practice Builder in Sacramento, California

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Electrical Engineering Practice Builder to join our team in Sacramento, CA. This position will lead and support diverse public and private sector projects throughout California and across the country.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for the Resiliency Practice in Sacramento and surrounding communities. We are seeking a leader with background in business development, managing relationships with clients, supporting and leading projects, and leading and mentoring team members.

Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principals, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing an environmental planning practice. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. Responsibilities Include :

  • Lead complex design of electrical systems for solar and renewable projects throughout CA and other markets across the US.

  • Preparation of project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and marketing proposals

  • Lead a team of qualified staff while mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our electrical engineering practice

  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams

  • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical plans, equipment schematicand blockdiagrams, load calculations, andone-linediagrams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 15+ years of relatable experience in an Electrical Engineering leadership role

  • Experience managing and mentoring younger staff

  • Interest and experience engaging directly with clients, having a growth mindset to build business

  • Experience with marketing and business development activities

  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes

  • Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)

  • Licensed EE in the state of CA highly desired

  • Experience in Power Studies, such as Short Circuit Study, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Analysis.AGI32 is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Base Salary Range:

$165 - $200K

Eligible for incentive bonus program
