Kimley-Horn Internal Communications Specialist in Raleigh, North Carolina

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

We seek a dynamic and experienced Internal Communications Specialist & Content Creator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining internal communication initiatives that engage and inform our employees. Additionally, the candidate will serve as a mentor and leader for more junior members of our team, overseeing projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will also need to quickly grasp Kimley-Horn’s culture and be able to communicate it effectively.

  • Act as trusted advisor and project manager for internal clients to deliver information on tools and resources

  • Serve as a mentor and leader to more junior members of the team

  • Strengthen employee engagement through cultural initiatives and internal messages

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the firm

  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications tools and programs and adjust strategies as needed

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met

  • Maintain internal communication guidelines to ensure consistent messaging and tone across all channels and for all clients

  • Prioritize and uphold the Kimley-Horn brand

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in internal communications or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding collaboration skills

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain successful internal communications strategies

  • Familiarity with content management systems – i.e., SharePoint, Sociabble, etc.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the firm
